I sometimes lay wide awake
To only dream of you again
Laughing from our times before
Frowning at what would begin
Remembering our past in a student body
Conversating about Virginia's Tribe's
You listening to me sing at school recitals
And me wondering what I'm feeling
You were so tall you'd block the sun from me
You taught so well, made me like poetry
You made me feel what I still feel now
You made me miss what I haven't seen in a while.
As time passes by
My mind grows wide
You are further distant to me
And I wish you'd only see
The exact thing I'm trying to say
But.. that will be the day
